The Mechanical Design Engineer reports to the Engineering Manager and is responsible for analyzing, designing, maintaining, improving, and releasing world-class machinery.
In collaboration with other team members, the Mechanical Engineer will implement our equipment, design standards, and related improvement projects in line with customer requirements and the ITW 80 / 20 philosophy.
Our search is for a Mechanical Engineer with 5-10 years of experience in engineering design.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Create and maintain accurate multi-level Bills of Material (BOM) and enter them into the ERP system.
- Complete product configuration and data entry to drive demand for production.
- Perform the design, analysis, and / or evaluation of advanced mechanical and electro-mechanical systems. Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Prepare clear, complete, detailed, and accurate designs. Use Creo for detailed drawings.
- Manage change control of components and bills of materials.
- Partner with manufacturing and suppliers to develop solutions for meeting cost targets for projects.
- Conduct engineering studies and partner with operations, field services, and customers to diagnose and resolve issues. Apply root cause analysis and perform cost-benefit analysis for various solutions.
Design for reliability.
- Apply the ITW 80 / 20 business processes, draw conclusions using critical information from available data, and lead projects.
- Travel (10%) to suppliers and customer facilities.
- Ability to lift 25 lbs.
