Job Summary and Qualifications

GI nurses work in collaboration with other members of the healthcare team to coordinate care from admission to discharge, resulting in quality outcome, patient safety and high patient satisfaction.

About this unit :

• 1 GI room (expansion coming soon); 5-9 patient average per day
• No on-call
• New physician joining this group to help with continued growth
• Excellent communication and teamwork within the clinic and no turnover

Responsibilities :

• The RN will work with the Pain Clinic and GI lab procedural areas; responsible for checking in patients, medical history (phone and in person), assisting with procedures, providing instructions for follow-up.
• Will assist with recovery from GI procedures; some patients may be intubated. Will also be responsible for starting IVs.

Qualifications You will Need :

• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
• Current state of Missouri RN licensure required.
• Excellent oral / written communication, interpersonal, organizational and leadership skills required.
• BLS certification required at hire and maintained.
• ACLS required within 6 months.
