Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Neuro ICU RN with recent large Level 1 or 2 facility and Epic experience for a night shift travel assignment.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a Neuro ICU unit within a large Level 1 or Level 2 hospital setting
  • Care for patients with stroke, post-neurosurgery conditions, complex spine, and other neuro-specific diagnoses and complications
  • Perform specialized procedures including EVD management and therapeutic thermoregulation
  • Night shifts available as 3x12s or 4x12s, 18 : 45-07 : 15
  • Uses Epic EMR system with previous experience required
  • Travelers are required to work at least one holiday per 13-week assignment, with two required during winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas / Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve / New Year's)
  • Christmas RTO (requests for time off) cannot be approved
  • Local candidates who reside within 100 miles are not accepted; those 50–99.9 miles away may be considered for one 13-week assignment with no extension eligibility
  • Previous employees must have one year of separation before returning as a traveler
  • Facility policy limits travelers to 365 days on assignment, after which reassignment is not permitted except by review
  • Orientation includes non-billable modules (5 hours for orientation, 2 hours for Epic) with flexible completion before or during start

    • Requirements

  • Active RN license valid in Virginia or a compact state
  • Minimum prior experience in a Neuro ICU setting is required
  • Recent experience working in large Level 1 or Level 2 hospital environments
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Two professional references required for consideration
  • Copy of driver’s license and Social Security card required
