job_description.job_card.job_descriptionManage traffic engineering, transportation planning, and / or safety projects and contracts Attend and lead meetings with agencies, clients, consultant partners, and stakeholders Develop new project opportunities, manage client relationships, and prepare and manage proposal submissions Complete traffic safety and operational improvement studies for localized intersections and corridors Lead development of traffic impact analyses (TIAs) and / or TIA reviews on behalf of municipalities Provide analyses of traffic safety issues and crash reduction measures Conduct field investigations to determine crash contributing factors and identification of appropriate countermeasures Oversee quality and contribute to complex technical decisions on a range of multimodal transportation engineering assignments Apply deep understanding of traffic signal design, operations, and / or systems Address community traffic engineering and safety issues Manage projects involving the design of traffic control devices (signs, markings, signals) Develop mobility solutions which consider all users, including motorists, bicyclists, public transit users and pedestrians of all ages and abilities Familiarity with Long Island, NY region municipalities and agencies traffic operations and safety policies and practices Manage or support projects involving transportation technology including innovative, technology-driven approaches to serving transportation agency's evolving needs Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills Self-motivated with strong attention to detail Strong writing skills for proposals, technical reports and memoranda Ability to present at public meetings as part of project outreach The ability to manage multiple projects and work independently An understanding of effectively overseeing multi-disciplinary projects and teams Experience managing projects and marketing transportation services Motivated to lead and mentor junior team members Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field of study required Master's degree a plus and may substitute for 1 year of experience 8-11 years of professional experience in traffic / transportation engineering (with at least 2 years of experience with Long Island, NY region transportation projects) required Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure required Proficiency in Vissim and Synchro required Experience with SEQRA preferred Diverse and inclusive culture of collaboration and innovation Opportunity to work on complex, transformational projects Community and social responsibility as sustainable stewards Focus on learning, development, and career growth Best-in-class benefits, including flexible, hybrid workplace

Traffic Engineering Project Manager | Hybrid | Hauppauge, NY
VHB's growing Hauppauge, NY team is looking for a Traffic Engineering Project Manager to join our Transportation team. Our best estimate of the salary range for this position located in Hauppauge, NY is $120,000-170,000. The final compensation will be based on a variety of factors such as individual qualifications, education, and experience.
