Orthopedic Surgery Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner – Locum Opportunity | Oregon
Location : Oregon
Start Date : ASAP / ASAC
Duration : Ongoing
Schedule : Full-time | Call coverage includes weekdays, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
Setting : Inpatient and Emergency Department
Position Overview
In collaboration with the attending physician, the provider will :
- Prepare and record patient history, develop and implement plans of care.
- Participate in daily rounds and document pertinent symptoms, findings, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
- Utilize the electronic medical record for order entry and documentation.
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounding, respond to coding / documentation queries, and assist in quality and safety initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities
Order or perform diagnostic studies such as EMG, EKG, compartment pressure measurements, x-rays, CT, MRI, and bone scans.Perform minor procedures including digital blocks, regional anesthesia, tendon repair, wound closure, incision and drainage, wound debridement, and k-wire or hardware removal.Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as joint / bursa aspirations, fracture reductions, injections, casting, bracing, and splint applications.Assist in surgery — first assist, tissue closures, and appliance applications as directed by the surgeon.Conduct hospital rounds, write orders, and support attending Orthopedic Surgeons.Participate in orthopedic call coverage, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.Evaluate and manage hospitalized patients, dictate discharge summaries, and perform histories and physicals.Skills and Abilities
Proficient in electronic health records for documentation and care management.Ability to work independently and manage emergent or high-stress situations effectively.Requirements
Board Certified – RequiredOregon License – RequiredFull-time Availability – RequiredNPDB Self-Query – Required at submissionCAQH Login & Password – Required at offerMeets criteria for Medical Staff or Allied Health Professional membership and privileges.Must complete 4 hours of unpaid EPIC training (2 hours if testing out).Credentialing timeframe : Minimum 60 daysCompensation & Logistics
