The Social Media Content Creator will be responsible for filming, editing, and producing short to medium-length videos for Gerten’s social media channels. This role is all about showcasing our unique offerings, picturesque store, stunning plants, the expertise of our team, our wonderful customers, and the vibrant, fun atmosphere that defines us. Through your creative lens, you’ll bring our brand’s story to life, engaging our audience and highlighting everything that makes Gertens Minnesota’s Destination Garden Center.

Each day brings something new : filming in our garden center, collaborating with our other Content Creators to coordinate great ideas across channels, jumping on social trends, or dreaming up fun ways to promote sales and events. While video is the main focus, you’ll also have opportunities to write blog content, pitch ideas for emails, and help shape promotions that keep our customers excited and engaged. You’ll also monitor trends, analyze the performance of our content, and make adjustments to continuously improve our social media presence.

Pay Range : $22 - $28 / hour

In this position you will :

Gain a deep understanding of our target audiences and work to ensure that our social media posts both attract their attention and encourages them to act.

Collaborate with the marketing team to brainstorm and develop content ideas aligned with seasonal campaigns, promotions, and brand initiatives.

Create short and medium-length videos that feel authentic, creative, and fun for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook.

Stay updated on social media trends and incorporate them into content strategies.

Work closely with team members across departments to ensure content aligns with company goals and initiatives.

Work in partnership with our Content Manager, Photographer, and Graphic Designers to ensure our social media pages are following a coordinated calendar.

Collaborate with the marketing team designers to promote events throughout the year.

Work with external content creators to create compelling videos of their experiences shopping at Gertens including initial creator research, outreach, inbound requests, and project management.

Respond to comments and messages originating from our social media accounts.

Adhering to brand standards on voice, music, typography and overall design for videos being posted online.

Required skills and qualifications :

Strong creative skills with the ability to conceptualize and bring unique video ideas to life, particularly vertical videos that look and feel organic to the platform(s) they are posted on.

In-depth knowledge of social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook) and their similarities and differences when it comes to video content, styles, and trends.

A keen ability to craft compelling social media content, with an instinctive sense of what captivates and engages audiences across different platforms.

Work as a team within all departments within Gertens Family of Businesses and external vendor management.

Willingness to continuously learn as social media marketing and content creation evolves.

Education and / or Work Experience Requirements :

1+ year of related work experience preferred but not required (including any internship experience)

Prior knowledge and experience with video editing in software such as CapCut or Adobe Premiere / Rush is a plus.

Knowledge and passion of gardening, plants, trees and outdoor living industries a plus.
