Join the Mercy Health Neurology team at the Neuroscience Institute , where we are actively seeking a skilled and passionate physician specializing in Neurology with a focus on Movement Disorders.
We prioritize a balanced work schedule, offering preferential options for five eight-hour days. Please note that extended and weekend hours are required if on call.
This dynamic role encompasses several vital components, including building an ambulatory practice with virtual visit capabilities, optional inpatient rounding services, and active participation in resident teaching and clinics.
Job Description :
- Establish and grow an outpatient practice, integrating virtual visit options to enhance patient accessibility and convenience.
- Participation in inpatient rounding services and call rotations, as needed, in collaboration with partners at St. Vincent Hospital and metro rounding services, ensuring equitable distribution of responsibilities within the department.
- Engage in resident teaching activities, including didactics, weekly resident clinic sessions, and educational contributions during rounding services, journal clubs, and annual grand rounds presentations.
- Conduct a minimum of 36 hours of direct patient care per week, supplemented by four hours of administrative duties in an outpatient setting.
- Opportunity for involvement in research activities, providing additional support if needed by the department.
- While not currently required, availability for call rotations with an agreement of eight days per month, subject to equitable distribution among the team.
Call responsibilities may include rounding services with varying patient loads.
Utilize telehealth platforms for ambulatory virtual visits as necessary, with potential future development of teleneurology programs for inpatient consultations.

- Access to advanced diagnostic tools such as 1.2 Tesla high-field open MRIs.
- Close proximity to physical therapy services and neuropsychologist support located within the Sunforest office building.
Inpatient :
Utilize comprehensive in-house resources including physical therapy and imaging services, collaborative case management, and access to neurocritical care and stroke center facilities.
Experience Requirements :
- Board certification or eligibility in Neurology with the ability to obtain a medical professional license in the State of Ohio.
- Fellowship training in Movement Disorders preferred.
- Demonstrate proficiency in providing comprehensive inpatient and outpatient neurology services, including prescription authority.
- Contribute to resident teaching and support the expansion of Mercy Health's neurological capabilities.
