Description : This position provides technical support of Production Operations at Lockheed Martin Missiles & Fire Control in Troy, Alabama.
The job duties include but are not limited to :
- Design, development, and implementation of manufacturing processes and special tooling / equipment.
- Creation and maintenance of detailed work instructions.
- Manufacturing production floor support required to assemble and test a variety of military missiles.
- Develop and implement root cause and corrective / preventative actions.
The role requires the ability to :
- Interpret engineering requirements from product data drawings, parts lists, specifications, and schematics.
- Conduct detailed failure analysis to determine root cause and implement the corrective / preventative actions.
- Demonstrate a high level of mechanical hands-on abilities to perform or assist in missile assembly & test along with repairing nonoperating tools and equipment.
Locale : Troy, Alabama is located in the East Gulf Coastal Plains region of southeastern Alabama. Troy's climate is typical of areas along the Gulf of Mexico, with hot, humid summers and mild winters.

Work Schedule : Must be able to work all schedules / shifts (first shift, night shift, and weekend schedule).
Basic Qualifications :
Degree from an accredited college in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline at the Bachelor's level and 5+ years production engineering experience or 3+ years production engineering experience and related Master's degree.
Knowledgeable of General Manufacturing Processes with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience interpreting engineering requirements from product data models, drawings, parts lists, and specifications.
Experience conducting detailed failure analysis to determine root cause and implement the corrective / preventative actions.
Able to demonstrate a high level of mechanical hands-on abilities to perform or assist in missile assembly and test along with repairing nonoperating tools and equipment.
Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance. Lockheed Martin will assist selected candidates with obtaining at least an Interim Secret Clearance prior to starting.
Additionally, the candidate must be able to pass a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives ("ATF") background check to obtain approval to be an "employee possessor" (of explosives or other ATF-regulated items) as defined by ATF regulations.
Failure to obtain and retain employee possessor status may result in revocation of an offer and loss of employment.
Desired Skills :
Working knowledge / experience of manufacturing mechanical assembly processes, electronic testing methods, factory automation equipment, industrial safety processes, technical writing, and teamwork.
Ability to :
- Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications / schematics.
- Understand basic Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) references.
- Create and maintain Computer Aided Design (CAD) models and drawings.
Security Clearance Statement : This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
