WDAF-TV FOX4 in Kansas City is seeking a dynamic and enterprising News Reporter to join our team. This role is ideal for a journalist who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative newsroom and is passionate about telling compelling stories across broadcast, digital, and streaming platforms .
The successful candidate will be a strong storyteller with excellent live reporting skills, a deep understanding of local issues, and the ability to connect with viewers in a clear, engaging, and meaningful way.

- Enterprise original, impactful stories that resonate with the local community across all platforms – broadcast, digital, streaming, and social media .
- Deliver live reports with confidence and clarity, especially during breaking news and developing stories.
- Write and produce content in a clear, concise, and engaging manner tailored to each platform.
- Build and maintain a network of sources to stay ahead of the news curve.
- Conduct interviews with newsmakers and community members to enhance storytelling.
- Collaborate with producers, photographers, and newsroom staff to shape coverage and segment ideas.
- Ensure all content meets FOX4’s standards for journalistic integrity and production quality.
- Contribute to the station’s digital presence.
- Take part in special projects and other duties as assigned.
Requirements & Skills :
Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism or a related field, or equivalent experience.Minimum two years of experience in news reportingStrong on-air presence and ability to ad-lib effectively.Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.Solid news judgment and a broad understanding of current events, local issues, and storytelling techniques.Open to feedback and coaching, with a track record of applying guidance to improve performance.Ability to work well in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.Proficiency with newsroom technology, editing software, and digital publishing tools.Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple assignments, and adapt to breaking news.Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.Flexibility to work any shift, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.#J-18808-Ljbffr
