About the Role :

The Lead Dental Assistant plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of dental procedures and the overall efficiency of the dental practice in Hickory Grove, NC. This position involves providing advanced clinical support to dentists during a variety of dental treatments, while also overseeing and mentoring junior dental assistants to maintain high standards of patient care. The Lead Dental Assistant is responsible for managing patient flow, preparing treatment rooms, and ensuring all instruments and materials are sterilized and ready for use. Additionally, this role requires collaboration with the dental team to enhance patient experience and uphold compliance with health and safety regulations. Ultimately, the Lead Dental Assistant contributes significantly to delivering exceptional dental care and fostering a professional, welcoming environment for patients and staff alike.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) credential or equivalent certification.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a dental assistant in a clinical setting.
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and infection control standards.
  • Ability to pass background checks and comply with state dental board requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and team members.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a dental practice.
  • Additional certifications such as Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) or Radiology Certification.
  • Familiarity with dental practice management software and electronic health records (EHR).
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Bilingual abilities to assist a diverse patient population.
  • Responsibilities :

  • Assist dentists during dental procedures by preparing instruments, materials, and equipment.
  • Supervise and mentor junior dental assistants, providing guidance and training as needed.
  • Manage patient scheduling and flow to optimize efficiency and minimize wait times.
  • Ensure strict adherence to infection control protocols and sterilization procedures.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and assist with administrative tasks related to patient care.
  • Coordinate with the dental team to prepare treatment rooms and ensure all necessary supplies are stocked.
  • Provide patient education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care instructions.
  • Monitor and maintain compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards within the dental office.
