About The Position
Weekly Pay Range - $2337 To $2597 Job Title : Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty : Pediatric Oncology Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Night - 11.
5 hours x 3 days per week - 7 : 00 PM to 7 : 30 AM (Every other weekend + 4th shift per month) Guaranteed Hours : 34.5 hours per week Experience : Minimum 2 years in Pediatric Hematology / Oncology in a hospital setting License : Licensed as a registered nurse with current registration in the state Certifications : BLS;
ACLS Must-Have : APHON Certification preferred Job Description : - Deliver patient care by incorporating the tenets of the professional practice model of Relationship Centered Care and through the application of the nursing process based on theory, research, evidence-based practice, and approved organizational nursing standards.
- Assess and evaluate patient care needs and apply critical thinking skills in patient care management. - Integrate relevant assessment and intervention skills in the delivery of nursing care.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the care plan.
- Prioritize all aspects of patient care, including teaching, rounding, coaching, planning after hospital care, and delegating to others as appropriate.
- Educate patients and caregivers while anticipating needs and readiness to learn about their care plan, transition of care, promotion of health, and prevention of disease.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, family, and all members of the Interdisciplinary Patient Care Team.
- Manage assignments within the Care Delivery Model of Modified Primary Nursing and demonstrate effective allocation of material resources.
- Incorporate ethical principles into decision-making for patients and families. - Encourage and demonstrate a spirit of scholarship, inquiry, life-long learning, and innovation for self and others.
- Role model the tenets of Relationship Centered Care through facilitation of various actions, including Admission Welcome, Bedside Shift Report, AM / PM Care, Purposeful Hourly Rounding, and Unit Collaboration.
- Consider the patient's values, preferences, cultural diversity, expressed needs, and knowledge in all aspects of care.
- Establish and maintain a therapeutic relationship with patients and families. - Use evidence-based practices to increase understanding of patients' perceptions of care.
- Initiate service recovery for patients and family members with concerns and escalate as needed. - Demonstrate caring, respect, compassion, empathy, and active listening through dialogue, body language, and actions.
- Practice safe and efficient patient-centered care, identifying and escalating barriers and opportunities for improvement.
- Implement process improvement strategies based on institutional evidence-based practices and procedures. - Engage in formal and informal peer and institutional review processes.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement quality improvement projects, evidence-based practice activities, and nursing research studies.
- Contribute to quality and safety practices and required compliance measures. - Utilize institutional information technology by documenting nursing practice to support quality and performance improvement initiatives.

- Manual dexterity to perform a variety of clinical procedures relevant to the practice area (e.g., venipuncture, urinary catheterization, cardiopulmonary resuscitation).
- Proficiency in using basic data entry, retrieval systems, and the electronic medical record documentation system.
