Job Overview

The Landscape Construction Foreman is responsible for the safety of themselves and those around them. They are the lead on all construction activities on the job site as it relates to S.L.C.'s scope of work. The Foreman will be tasked to uphold work schedules, procedures and quality standards. Strives to understand processes and improve skills.

Responsibilities

  • Knows and follows all company safety, personnel, and procedure policies.
  • Supervises and leads a team of landscape laborers, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and on schedule.
  • Can safely and efficiently operate construction equipment and other tools including but not limited to a demo saw, skid steer, excavator, laser transit, and other hand / power tools.
  • Identify quality plant materials and have a good working horticultural knowledge.
  • Coordinate the delivery and usage of materials (mulch, soil, plants, etc.) needed for projects.
  • Track hours accurately by clocking in and out.
  • Maintains a clean and professional work site, truck / trailer and uniform.
  • Provide training and guidance to laborers on proper techniques, safety protocols, and equipment use.
  • Assists with punctuality of start and end times, breaks and lunch periods.
  • Represents the company with professionalism and with good public relations.
  • Assists with scheduling and planning for upcoming projects, ensuring adequate resources are available.
  • Ability to work well with crew members and supervisors.
  • Communicates well with Project Manager, Crew, and Subcontractors.

Job Requirements

Experience Requirements :

3-5 years of in-field crew and job management on large scale residential or commercial landscape installations. Bi-lingual is a plus.

Educational Requirements :

High School Diploma, College Degree or Certificate in Horticulture, landscaping or related field is preferred but not necessary.

Physical Demands :

Must be able to lift / carry materials up to 50lbs on a regular and consistent basis, move about the work site. Requires extended periods of activity including walking, standing, kneeling, bending and lifting, up to 100% of a workday. Time in the field; 95% of time.

Working Environment :

Employee is frequently exposed to exterior elements (i.e., pollen, chemicals, cold and heat etc.) Occasionally exposed to wet and / or humid conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat.

Position Range : $22 / hr - $35 / hr
