Job Title : Principal Structural Engineer
Location : Huntsville, AL (Hybrid)

Duties :
- Assist the Government Project Manager to plan, program, design, execute, and document Military Construction (MILCON) and sustainment, restoration, and modernization (SRM) projects.
- Interact with and coordinate facilities engineering tasks with the government customer, host installations, A&E firms, and executing agencies.
- Independently review designs and calculations, procurement documents, and detailed analyses.
- Develop project scope and evaluate technical proposals.
- Provide support in project execution status reviews via status meetings and schedule reviews.
- Provide support for other engineering activities as required.
- Provide input and technical guidance to CAD designer / drafters, designers, and lower-level engineers working on the same project.
- Provide construction surveillance.
- Prepare project briefings in Microsoft PowerPoint and information papers in Microsoft Word.
- Draft, review, and contribute to technical reports and documentation.
Requirements :
- Master's degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university and 10 years of relevant experience. A Professional Engineer (PE) license may be substituted for the ME / MS degree in engineering education requirement or three years of relative engineering experience.
- Capable of leading and executing extensive engineering support efforts for planning, design, construction, and maintenance / sustainment of the physical and natural built environments, and the administrative and mission facilities and infrastructure of the Agency.
- Possess in-depth technical and engineering theoretical knowledge for an applicable engineering discipline.
- Possess Facilities Structural engineering experience.
- Comprehensive expertise in execution of facility engineering and environmental policies, studies, and analysis, and management of activities.
- Experienced in facilities requirements development, design, construction, closeout, and configuration management.
- Comprehensive expertise with facility engineering, studies, and analysis, and management of activities.
- Specialized knowledge of design, analysis, and review of complex structural systems designed to withstand weapons effects and unique environmental effects, such as earthquake effects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
- Familiarity with MILCON and CAD.
Security Clearance : Must have and be able to maintain a Secret security clearance.
Other Essential Job Functions : Occasional CONUS and OCONUS travel required.
