We are seeking a Quality Engineer with expertise in metal fabrication to join our client’s metals manufacturing team. The ideal candidate should have experience in low to mid-volume production environments, focusing on processing fabricated assemblies.
Must Haves :
- 6 plus years’ experience in a low to mid-volume metal parts manufacturing environment.
- Six Sigma / Lean training; Green Belt certification is a plus.
- Strong understanding of GD&T.
- Experience with bills of materials and MRP systems.
- Experience with basic inspection equipment, including CMMs, height gauges, and micrometers.
Additional Qualifications :
- Working knowledge of Excel for data analysis and charting.
- Experience with machining, stamping, welding, and metal forming using press brake equipment.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to implement continuous improvement programs.
Responsibilities :
- Collaborate with customers, sales, and engineering on APQP activities for new programs.
- Prepare sample submission packages (PPAP) with project engineers, plant operations, and QC technicians.
- Develop effective part validation procedures by reviewing GD&T, KPCs, and gauging methodology.
- Coordinate tooling run-offs and collect statistical data to produce CPK indicators.
- Maintain and update FMEAs, process flow diagrams, and control plans to uphold quality standards.
Education :
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field is preferred.
