Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Long Term Care / Skilled Nursing Facility position, requiring LTC experience and a current ND or compact RN license.
Responsibilities
Work in a 26-bed Long Term Care / Skilled Nursing Facility within an acute care settingTypical patient population includes individuals with heart disease, diabetes, and dementiaNurse-to-patient ratios are 1 : 10 on days and 1 : 19 at nightNo IVs, titratable drips, or telemetry monitoring required12-hour shifts from 7 to 7, with rotation between day and night shiftsEvery other weekend and every other major holiday shift requiredNo floating or on-call responsibilitiesCharting is completed using the Matrix EMR systemResponsibilities include serving as charge nurse, passing medications, and performing wound careNo direct clinical involvement with rehabilitation or acute inpatient rehabOrientation includes 2-3 unit-specific shiftsSupport provided by Director of Nursing and as-needed physical therapy and social work designeeNurses must be clean and presentable in appearance; no specific scrub color requiredTime off requests must be submitted upfront (7 days or fewer per 13-week contract); additional requests will not be approvedPhysician is available by phone after hoursFirst time travelers will be consideredRequirements
Active ND or compact RN license required at time of application; pending licenses not acceptedCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; pending certifications not acceptedMinimum of 2 years of recent LTC experience requiredExperience using Matrix EMR is preferredCandidates may not have been employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any facility associated with CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity within the past yearMust live at least 50 miles from the facilityDriver's license must be provided for considerationTwo professional references required : one supervisor from the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the last 3 yearsBenefits
