RISK MANAGEMENT ANALYST (DEPARTMENT OF RISK MANAGEMENT)
Job Summary
Support operations and conduct analyses and operational studies related to employee benefits, workers compensation, general liability, and overall risk management.
Keep abreast of external regulations related to the County's self-insured functions and recommend procedures to ensure compliance with applicable government and vendor requirements.
Coordinate procurement activities and duties for risk management. Recommend modifications to programs, policies, and procedures as appropriate, drive process improvements, and support budget operations for risk management and the Self Insurance Fund.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree
- Two (2) years of experience in insurance, risk management, budget development, or a directly related field or
- An equivalent combination of education and / or experience.

Degrees awarded outside of the United States with the exception of those awarded in one of the United States territories and Canada, must be credentialed by the World Education Services (WES), Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE) or a National Association of Credential Evaluation (NACES) member organization.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS
Knowledge of external regulations related to risk management, risk management software, and data mitigation
processes. Ability to recommend procedures to ensure compliance with applicable government and vendor requirements. Ability to assess data, interpret ambiguous situations, and make decisions under pressure.
Skill in written and verbal communications and presentations. Skill in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access. Skill in executing moderately complex data collection, synthesis, analysis, reporting, and development of recommendations to support functional area(s), where analysis is often procedural and straightforward.
Ability to provide support and collaborate with team members and entry-level management to drive accuracy and precision in analysis.
Knowledge of procedural analytical practices to perform moderate studies and continually adopt new methods.
Physical Requirements
Sedentary Work involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
