Responsibilities and Duties :
Arrive at work five minutes prior to your scheduled shift start time and be prepared to work at the scheduled shift time.
Be dressed in a clean uniform, with an apron, and non-slip shoes.
- Make sure that your knives are sharp, clean, and sanitized.
- Arriving to work under the influence of alcohol, marijuana, or any other street drug, will be grounds for immediate termination.
- If you are unable to make it to work at your scheduled time, you must notify the Executive Chef, prior to arriving late.
- Arrive to work well-groomed. You must be clean-shaven or maintain a well-manicured beard. Fingernails must be trimmed and clean.
Oral hygiene is also important.
- Arrive to work in a good mood. We have a good team that enjoys what they do. We expect all employees to maintain a hardworking pleasant environment.
- Profanity is frowned upon, and will not be tolerated. Sexual innuendos, jokes, and comments will be viewed as sexual harassment.
- Our kitchen is collaborative, and a place of learning. You will be expected to uphold the standards set in the kitchen at all times.
- All employees are expected to perform any tasks necessary to the high performance of our kitchen. Any tasks necessary to maintain our kitchen standard should be embraced and performed with a good, team-oriented attitude.
- Upon beginning your shift, you will be required to touch base with the chef or sous chef, to get your list of things to be accomplished during the service.
No shortcuts will be tolerated.
- You are responsible for prepping your station so that you are prepared for a smooth service.
- You must be able to work at a fast pace, under stressful conditions.
- Attitude is everything. Give a100% and you will excel in our kitchen.
- Work clean at all times.
- We are in the business of serving diners, complaining about late tables, or special orders will not be tolerated.
- Ask questions. We are here to help everyone succeed. Try to learn something new each shift.
- Prepare each dish as you were trained to do. Proper technique and consistency are crucial to our success as a team.
- Have fun, we want you to enjoy what you are doing. We cook because we are passionate about food and giving our guests an amazing dining experience.
- We want you to become a chef, our goal will be to give you the culinary tools necessary to become a chef.
- Attitude is everything, we can teach you the skills required to excel, but you must bring the can do, will do attitude.
- Our Executive Chef will be always available to lend a kind ear, or to counsel you in any way possible. Please take advantage of the executive chefs knowledge and maintain an open dialogue at all times.

Qualifications Skills Work Environment Requirements :
- High school diploma / GED required. Culinary School training and certificate preferred.
- 2+ years experience as a Cook in the Food & Restaurant Industry
- ServeSafe certification preferred
- Strong knowledge of proper food handling procedures
- Understand food inventory systems
- Excels as a team player and hard worker
- Able to see clearly (with or without glasses) to read, interpret and understand recipes, menus, food orders, packing slips, etc.
- Able to hear and speak effectively
- Able to communicate clearly with customers and other employees.
- Able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
- Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 9 hours).
- Able to sense degrees of temperature.
