We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Springfield, Massachusetts. Your responsibilities will revolve around processing financial transactions, maintaining records, and ensuring our financial operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Manage and process both Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) transactions.
• Regularly perform bank reconciliations to ensure financial records are accurate.
• Maintain and update the General Ledger as required.
• Prepare and post journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded.
• Assist with the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reports.
• Utilize Blackbaud software for various accounting purposes.
• Collaborate with other teams to resolve any financial discrepancies or issues.
• Monitor customer accounts, assessing their credit status and taking appropriate action when necessary.
• Ensure all financial operations comply with federal and state laws.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in general accounting
• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Experience with bank reconciliations and maintaining general ledger
• Ability to prepare and post journal entries
• Experience assisting in month-end close procedures
• Familiarity with Blackbaud software is a plus
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Familiarity with accounting software and databases
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically
• Good organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
