About this Position
The Rotorcraft Turboprop / Turboshaft Engines (RTPE) Systems Engineering team drives GE Aerospace's mission by managing the Engine Level Model's strategic plan.
This includes addressing safety issues, engine configuration, airframe integration, customer airworthiness qualification, maintenance plans, field investigations, test objectives, and sustaining product and growth strategies.
The team also innovates next-generation engine platforms through sustainable technology insertions.
In this role, you will support systems technology leadership activities for the RTPE family of engines (T700, CT7, T408, T64, T58), working with cross-functional teams in design, testing, field integration, engine controls, aero-thermal, performance, operability, manufacturing, and sourcing.
The Systems and Design Integration Leader will provide technical leadership to execute strategic and tactical deliverables with a primary focus on Engineering Investigations impacting fleet & production operations.
This role requires collaboration with the engineering section leader and team members to execute programs robustly and timely, considering system-level risk and customer input.
The leader must have deep knowledge of engineering processes and a proactive mindset to enable strong horizontal collaboration with cross-functional disciplines, including the Chief's office, Design Boards, Project, and Supply Chain.

Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Technical Program Management :
- Facilitate systems and design integration for balanced design solutions, considering field experience and best practices.
- Lead technical execution through development, production, and field support.
- Prioritize technical needs with in-depth knowledge of engine model characteristics, certification history, and manufacturing processes.
- Coordinate efforts to maintain product reliability and fleet stability, including strategic process improvements.
- Support quality and safety investigations, including regulatory coordination.
Leadership and Continuous Improvement :
- Communicate effectively with senior leadership and customers.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration, driving continuous improvement through application of FLIGHT DECK Champion strategic continuous improvement opportunities that improve cycle times to disposition delivery challenges and streamline engineering processes.
- Advocate for accelerating knowledge transfer and documenting institutional knowledge for the product line engineering team.
External and Internal Collaboration :
- Partner across the enterprise to address Field Management, Quality, and Producibility challenges.
- Develop and standardize Engineering Production support processes with adjacent organizations.
- Serve as the primary technical interface with external organizations, fostering trusted relationships.
- Integrate internal team efforts with airframers, regulatory agencies, and partners for optimal technical solutions.
- Negotiate and influence stakeholders to define and deploy technical or commercial solutions.
- Influence major product line decisions and long-term strategies, balancing business / customer needs and technical / budget constraints.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aeronautical engineering from an accredited university or college.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in the aerospace industry.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in engine systems engineering or design engineering.
Desired Characteristics
- Completed training in structured problem solving.
- Demonstrated experience in investigations and structured problem solving.
- Advanced degree in mechanical or aeronautical engineering.
- Minimum of 10 years in the aerospace industry.
- Facilitator for TOPS8D Investigations
- Multidiscipline technical expertise.
- Hardware ownership or hands-on experience.
- Systems integration experience.
- Talent development, mentoring, and coaching.
- Experience leading teams of indirect reports.
- Strong horizontal collaboration skills.
- Proven ability to execute large / complex programs.
