Stamford Health is currently seeking an experienced Surgical Physician Assistant to join our team! This is an immediate need for a Physician Assistant to work in the Surgical Subspecialties at Stamford Hospital.
This is a full-time position requiring clinical work and OR First Assist. The PA will assist in the evaluation and treatment of patients presenting with a variety of medical and surgical conditions which range from chronic diseases, acute illnesses, and health care maintenance.
Under the direction of or in consultation with a physician, the PA will provide a broad spectrum of general patient care.
Patient population includes approximately 95% Urology and Neurosurgery with an occasional Oral and Maxillofacial and ENT patients.
Willing to train PA’s with at least 1 year of surgical inpatient experience in other surgical subspecialties
Qualifications of the Ideal candidate :
- B.A. / B.S. and completion of 2 years accredited P.A. training program.
- Current NCCPA certification required.
- 1 year emergency / surgical residency beyond formal training is preferred.
- 1 year of surgical PA experience desired.
- BLS is required. ACLS and PALS desirable.
