4 West is a 35 bed Medical Surgical unit practicing individualized care to a very diverse, adult patient population. 4 West nurses are experienced in the care of a wide variety of chronic and acute medical conditions and receive special training for the care of renal patients.
Nurses collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and a variety of specialists including : palliative care, cardiology, neurology, urology, oncology, and orthopedics.
4 West is team-oriented and has been successful in providing our patients with superior quality and outstanding customer service.
Our unit is an ideal place for nurses looking to optimize their clinical expertise, time management, and critical thinking skills.
4 West Nurses serve as an advocate for clients and their significant others to promote, maintain or restore health. Our nurses serve as mentors and role models for colleagues and students and continually engage in ongoing professional development to enhance the profession.
- Registered professional nurse who supports lifelong learning of nurses and other healthcare personnel in an environment that facilitates continuous learning and facilitates the adult learning process while functioning within the framework of achieving the strategic goals of UMC Health System and nursing services.
- Registered professional nurse who will assist Director and Assistant Director as needed and has a working knowledge of organizational and nursing policies.
Qualifications :
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
- Valid Texas RN License / Eligible Compact License
- Must maintain a current BLS certification from American Heart
Association
- BSN required
- At least 2 years of professional nursing experience required
- Nursing Certification required, or must be obtained within 2 years of hire
- Supervisory experience preferred
