Location : Fort Worth, Texas
Position Overview : We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Paraprofessional to join our educational team in Dallas, Texas.
The successful candidate will assist teachers in the classroom, provide support to students, and contribute to a positive and effective learning environment.
This role is essential in helping to meet the diverse needs of our students and ensuring they receive a quality education.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assist teachers with classroom management and instructional tasks.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students.
- Help implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Prepare and organize instructional materials and resources.
- Supervise students during non-classroom times, including in the cafeteria, on the playground, and during field trips.
- Support students with daily activities, including personal care if needed.
- Monitor and record student progress and behavior.
- Foster a safe and inclusive classroom environment.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other staff to support student learning and well-being.
- Participate in professional development and training sessions.
Qualifications :
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Associate's degree or higher, or pletion of at least two years of study at an institution of higher education, or a minimum of 48 college credit hours, or successful pletion of a formal state or local assessment demonstrating knowledge and ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics.
- Experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.
- Strong munication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Patience, flexibility, and a passion for helping students succeed.
- Basic understanding of child development and instructional strategies.
- Must pass a criminal background check and fingerprinting as required by Texas state law.
- pletion of any required state and local certifications for paraprofessionals.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Previous experience as a paraprofessional or teacher's aide.
- Training or coursework in education or a related field.
- Bilingual skills (Spanish / English) are a plus.
Physical Requirements :
- Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
- Capability to stoop, kneel, and crouch to assist students.
Work Environment :
This position will be primarily based in a classroom setting, with some duties performed outside the classroom during supervision times and field trips.
