Job Title : UX UI HCD Engineer (Hybrid) - DOD Cleared

Location : Mechanicsburg, PA or Washington, DC region (hybrid position with remote and on-site work)

Security Clearance : Active DOD security clearance at or above Secret level required

To continue improving upon our innovative solutions and services to the DOD and other government agencies, we are seeking an experienced UX UI HCD Engineer to join our team, working on high-impact projects that support national security and defense initiatives.

Job Summary Highly skilled UX UI HCD Engineer with a strong background in human-centered design, user experience, and user interface design. Must have experience working on DOD contracts and possess an active DOD security clearance at or above the Secret level. As a UX UI HCD Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying user-centered solutions that meet the needs of our DOD clients. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including software development, product management, and stakeholders to create intuitive and effective user experiences.

Key Responsibilities Conduct user research, usability testing, and analysis to inform design decisions

Develop and maintain design concepts, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs

Collaborate with stakeholders to understand project requirements and design solutions

Create and maintain design systems, style guides, and design standards

Work closely with software development teams to ensure design integrity and feasibility

Develop and maintain design documentation, including design specifications and design rationales

Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to colleagues

Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and design tools

Collaborate with the development team to ensure design is implemented correctly

Work on multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively

Requirements Minimum Requirements 5+ years of experience in UX UI HCD engineering, with a focus on human-centered design, user experience, and research

Active DOD security clearance at or above Secret level

Experience working on DOD contracts and the Pentagon

Experience in Wargames, Tabletop Exercises, and modeling

Strong portfolio that demonstrates expertise in UX UI HCD engineering

Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, and InVision

Strong understanding of human-centered design principles, user experience, and user interface design

Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively

Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Anthropology, Computer Science, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications Experience working with Agile development methodologies

Knowledge of front-end development technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

Experience with design systems and style guides

Familiarity with accessibility guidelines and regulations

Experience working with government agencies and contractors

Master’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, anthropology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
