Job Purpose

Executives assigned production tasks in accordance with procedures, to ensure right levels of HSE, Quality, Service, and costs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively participates in safety programs and be able to perform daily checklists and 5S participation.
  • Performs routine, non-routine, and complex assignments and operates highly sophisticated equipment under general supervision.
  • Takes ownership of production assets and ensures they are operated safely and as per established procedures, guidelines, and industry best practice
  • Performs daily production, preventative maintenance, process data collection, and administration tasks as per procedures and control systems.
  • Reports safety, quality, or other issues related to products or production processes to Team Leader / Shift Supervisor
  • Ensures all (shift team) production targets are met whilst ensuring the appropriate quality standards are maintained
  • Issues CAR, respectively Hazard report when any relevant issue is noticed, regardless location or responsible department
  • Provides progress updates to Team Leader / Shift Supervisor
  • Attends and contributes to meetings
  • Contributes in the investigation of HSE or quality issues for customer complaints, reject batches, or other quality related issues
  • Participates in Continuous Improvement activities and programs for HSE, Quality, ALPS or other as may be assigned from time to time.

Contributes to color adjustment activities, where applicable, in line with agreed procedures and control systems

  • Familiar and complies with all the applicable corporate, site, and / or laboratory policies / procedures with regard to personal conduct, HSE, and Product Safety and Regulatory Affairs (PRSA) standards
  • Ensure the proper collection of hazardous waste by proper marking, labelling and closure of hazardous waste containers
  • Responsible for immediately contacting the Emergency Coordinator in the event of discovering or causing a leak or spill
  • Ensure proper filling, closing, marking and labelling of bulk and non-bulk containers following all applicable DOT requirements
  • Responsible for the proper loading and unloading of bulk containers including tank trucks and railcars following all applicable DOT requirements
  • Responsible for the proper closing, marking and labelling of tank trucks and railcars following all applicable DOT requirements
  • Must follow all PSM related policies, procedures and work instructions and following all Emergency Action Plans
  • Understanding of basic laws (RCRA) pertaining to hazardous waste generation, storage, transportation and disposal
  • Responsible for participation in process and batch improvement activities
  • Participates in Management of Change (MOC), Incident Investigation, Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), Pre-Start-up Safety Review (PSSR), Corrective and Prevention Action (CAPA) determination, and other safety related committees and teams.

Job Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent and at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have previous experience in paint manufacturing facility.
  • Possess a basic knowledge of chemistry and chemical processes.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and make decisions in regard to trends, graphs, and charts.
  • Understand and be able to perform basic functions of Lab Equipment.
  • Must have a mechanical aptitude with the familiarity of the use of general mechanic’s tools.
  • Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office with the ability to collect and record data.
  • Proficient math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages and ability to measure weights and volumes (standard and metric).
  • Must be able to perform frequent and repetitive lifting of materials weighing up to 55 pounds
  • Ability to bend, reach & lift hoses, manipulate valves, operation / adjustment of equipment, stacking pallets, climb ladders and stairs, and other related tasks.
  • Ability to work from heights up to 20-50 feet.
  • Must be able to use and function with PPE including respirators, safety glasses, face shields, dust masks, and other PPE as required.
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment including but not limited to forklifts, forklift attachments, hoists, & pumps.
  • Ability to perform multiple duties and manage complex tasks in a properly prioritized manner and through effective use of time management and working safely.
  • Needs to possess strong communication skills in order to provide continuous process updates, receiving and giving direction, giving thorough shift turnover meetings, etc.
  • The ability to work in a team environment and take ownership over an area of responsibility with limited direction using the ability to make informed decisions.
