Job Title : IT Technical Project Manager 4Job Location : Rancho Cordova CA 95617Onsite Requirements : healthcare industry experiencefacilities / construction backgroundEpicJob Description : Under the general supervision of the IT Implementations manager and / or the program manager, the incumbent is responsible for highly complex project planning and management, overseeing and participating in design, development and overall project design, deployment, and support.

Under minimal direction, this position will act as a project manager for multiple project streams and new strategic initiatives from initiation to completion.

The incumbent is an experienced project and / or program manager with technical expertise. The position is responsible for all aspects of the project life cycle, including workflow process improvements and coaching other project managers.

This position will interact with all levels of IT management / staff and will work with a high degree of independence and decision making.

The position will lead the implementation of projects, working with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts through the delivery process.

This includes all aspects of project delivery, from requirements gathering, to analysis and design, to configuration and testing, all throughout deployment and support of various systems.

Highly effective leadership and communication skills to diverse audiences is essential. May be required to work outside traditional business hours to meet the critical needs of the project and / or the Information Technology Division.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities : Management of a portion of the program as it relates to IT Facilities, Infrastructure and IT Technology.

Demonstrate advanced knowledge of management and information system trends and professional practice standards.Act as IT Facilities project manager for application, infrastructure, hardware and software deployment as it relates.

Follow all standard project management procedures and complete all necessary documentation during the project life cycle from initiation to completion.

Develop project schedules, coordinate resources, communicate to teams to ensure project schedule is on track and within budget with resources allocated.

Schedule, assist with, and participate in meetings with department contacts, project stakeholders, hospital leadership, outside vendors, FP&D and other technology teams to understand and document technology and project related requirements.

Prepare and support budget process, customer relations, staff, timelines, and documentation for projects as assigned.Monitor tasks and schedules assigned to temporary staff and contract resources hired for projectsPrepare project documentation, metrics, presentation slides, demos and updates as needed to be used by IT leadership.

Meet stakeholders from different departments to gather necessary requirements and prepare project objectives.List major activities and milestones to perform during each phase of the project, ensuring work assignments are clear to staff.

Monitor projects and tasks to make sure they are on track for completion per schedule.Identify project barriers, unforeseen risks, activity dependencies and develop project activity and resource schedules.

Escalate issues and decisions as appropriate to IT manager and other IT leadership.Prepare, create, and maintain multiple project schedules, dashboards and timelines for monitoring and managing the project progress.

Monitor progress of task completion during each phase of the project cycle : Identify barriers to completing tasks on schedule and recommend actions taken to remove barriers impeding project completion.

Actively apply new knowledge in healthcare information technology trends.Actively enforce all relevant organization technical practices and privacy policies.

Keeping current on new governmental regulations and expectations regarding technological advances. Have current awareness of technical events shared in the media and assess which of these could apply and / or impact UCDH.

Skills and Qualifications : Minimum of 10 years of experience managing IT healthcare and construction projects using sound project management methodologies, principles, and techniques is mandatoryDemonstrated ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while prioritizing and allocating resources to complete projects on scheduleProven analytical and organizational skills to assess, analyze, organize, and monitor project progress and risksDemonstrated experience in successfully organizing and managing multiple projects, with varying workloads, in a dynamic team environment and coordinate resources in a matrixed environmentExperience in conducting technical assessments, preparing reports, and recommending results and solutions, concisely and clearly.

Proven experience with sound and independent decision-making skillsDemonstrated ability to take direction, feedback and follow proper project documentation procedures during the project life cycleProven experience working with IT infrastructure and equipment, including but not limited to desktop equipment, clinical equipment, infrastructure, low voltage systems, etc.

Build professional, cohesive, and collaborative relationships with team members, customers, and project stakeholdersDemonstrated ability to understand and explain technical problems in non-technical termsProven ability to work with high-level administrators, leaders, faculty, staff, and unsophisticated users effectivelyDemonstrated ability to work across lines of authority and lines of functional responsibilities collaboratively while maintaining cordial relationships with all stakeholdersExcellent written and oral communication skill, along with interpersonal skill to handle issues with tact and diplomacycommunication (written and oral), interpersonal skills, tact, and diplomacy appropriate for interfacing with wide range of administrators, faculty, staff, along with external vendors and other university campusesDemonstrated ability to communicate in English clearly (written and oral)Proven ability to handle and work effectively in a complex environment involving rapidly changing and competing priorities, heavy workloads, constant disruption, and highly fluid authorityProven project documentation skills (written) including but not limited to meeting-minutes, assessments, charters, plans, metrics, resource logs, issue logs, status updates and project closing documents 3rd party and subcontract staffing agencies are not eligible for partnership on this position.
