This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Computer Systems Engineer Architect, SME in the United States.

We are seeking a seasoned Computer Systems Engineer Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of advanced computer systems across hardware, software, networking, and storage environments. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions that meet complex organizational and client requirements. The ideal candidate combines technical depth with strategic vision, ensuring systems are resilient, compliant, and optimized for efficiency. You will have the opportunity to influence architecture decisions, evaluate emerging technologies, and drive innovation across multiple projects. This role offers a challenging yet collaborative environment where technical expertise directly contributes to mission-critical outcomes.

Accountabilities

  • Lead the design and architecture of comprehensive computer systems, covering hardware, software, networking, and storage components.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, tools, and platforms, making recommendations based on performance, scalability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Identify performance bottlenecks and propose solutions to optimize throughput, resource utilization, and overall system efficiency.
  • Integrate robust security measures and ensure compliance with regulations such as GDPR, HIPAA, and PCI DSS.
  • Design scalable, resilient systems with redundancy and failover mechanisms to support growing workloads.
  • Collaborate closely with software developers, network engineers, database administrators, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless interoperability.
  • Prepare detailed technical documentation, including system design documents, architecture diagrams, and implementation guides.
  • Stay current with industry trends, proactively recommending improvements and optimizations for systems and processes.

Requirements

  • 7–10 years of experience in system design, architecture, and implementation.
  • In-depth knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, networking protocols, and storage technologies.
  • Proficiency in multiple programming languages, including Java, C#, Python, and JavaScript.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across diverse teams.
  • Relevant certifications are a plus, such as CISSP, CCNA, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or Azure Solutions Architect.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with an active Public Trust / MBI clearance or the ability to obtain one.
