MRI Technologist
Job Summary
Operate Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanner(s) within all guidelines of MRI safety. Demonstrates a thorough understanding of MRI safety zones and practices all safety guidelines.
Interview / screen patient for appropriateness of exam and patient history and documents such accurately. Explain MRI procedures to patient / family for ultimate success of exam.
Administer appropriate contrast media intravenously and accurately evaluate images to ensure quality and diagnostic status of exam.
Requirements
Education
Required : Graduate of ARRT accredited program in Radiologic Technology OR Graduate of ARRT accredited program in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (primary pathway) with ARRT-MR certification
Preferred : Bachelor's Degree in Radiology Certification in ARRT MR
Experience
Required : 1 year dedicated experience in MRI or Graduate of an approved MRI training program and Registry Eligible
Skills
Strong analytical / problem solving skills.
Knowledge of current MR technical information.
Proficient in using computers and computer systems.
Excellent time management, interpersonal, presentation, organization, prioritizing, decision-making, and planning skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Able to work independently and collaboratively in teams.
Licensure / Certification / Registration
Required : R.T. (R) (ARRT) for non-primary pathway graduates (not required with completion of primary pathway program)
Required : R.T. (R) (MR) (ARRT)
Required : Must obtain BLS within 90 days of hire date
Primary Advanced Imaging Student
Job Summary
The advanced imaging student assists and performs imaging / procedures in the advanced clinical area under the guidance of the physicians and registered advanced imaging staff.
Imaging / procedures performed are consistent with the established standard of medical care in radiology, following established policies and protocols to produce optimum images, while keeping patient welfare, confidentiality, and comfort a top priority.
Requirements
Education
Required : Completed or currently enrolled in an ARRT or ARDMS approved advanced imaging training program.
Experience
Preferred : One year of prior health care experience
Skills
Strong analytical / problem solving skills.
Knowledge of current diagnostic radiology technical information.
Proficient in using computers and computer systems.
Excellent time management, interpersonal, presentation, organization, prioritizing, decision-making, and planning skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Able to work independently and collaboratively in teams.
Licensure / Certification / Registration
Required : One of the following ARRT or ARDMS registries within 6 months of hire or program completion, whichever is last :

- ARDMS (ABD), (OB), (RVT), (AE / PE), (MSKS), or (BR)
