About The Position
Job Title : Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty : Medical-Surgical Innovations Job Duration : 13 Weeks Shift : Day / Night Rotating Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Experience : Preferred minimum of 2 years of bedside nursing experience in a comparably sized hospital License : Active RN or Compact State License Certifications : Basic Life Support (BLS) - must be from the American Heart Association (AHA) Must-Have : Thorough attention to detail- Understanding of a variety of disease processes- Ability to communicate clearly and work well in a team- EPIC experience (please note in resume where it was used)- Willingness to float to all units / locations as needed- Experience in a busy level 1 trauma center is highly preferred Job Description : Provide nursing care to adult patients in a 32-bed medical-surgical unit- Perform head-to-toe and focused assessments- Administer medications- Communicate with the interdisciplinary team- Update patients and families on the plan of care- Advocate for patients as needed- Document all care activities- Utilize equipment such as OmniCell, Philips Care Monitors, glucometers, bladder scanners, Language Line, and Zebra phones- Work 12-hour shifts, rotating day / night, every other weekend, and every other holiday- May be required to float to other medical-surgical units Additional Information : Orientation includes 8-hour classroom training followed by 24 hours of unit training- Dress Code : Navy blue scrubs- Must be willing to travel and work night shifts if needed
