The Assistant Director of Nursing position at Montefiore Medical Group is a pivotal role that involves providing strategic leadership and operational oversight to nursing staff within the healthcare organization.

The incumbent collaborates with the Director of Nursing to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care while adhering to industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities include managing nursing staff, overseeing daily operations, and participating in the development and implementation of nursing policies and procedures.

The Assistant Director of Nursing actively engages in staff development, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.

Additionally, this role involves coordinating with other healthcare professionals, contributing to quality improvement initiatives, and maintaining effective communication channels to promote a cohesive and patient-centered care environment.

Candidates for this position are expected to have a strong background in nursing management, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to upholding Montefiore Medical Group's standards of excellence in healthcare delivery.

Responsibilities :

Participates in the development and management of Quality Improvement projects, incorporating standards of care according with the Joint Commission, Infection Prevention Control, NYS DOH and other regulatory guidelines.

Works with the site and collaborative teams to continue improvement for staff development and practice in the assigned areas in collaboration with Montefiore Medical Group management.

  • Assist the Director of Nursing Services in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the day-to-day functions of the nursing, in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the outpatient ambulatory care.
  • Assist to hire and monitor nursing staff and other support staff activities. Identifies with collaboration with CCNCs and providers patient action plan to ensure the safe and timely management of patients.

Serves as clinical resource person for CCNCs.

Shift : Monday Friday 8 : 30a-5 : 00p

Requirements :

  • Valid New York State Registered Professional Nurse License and current registration.
  • Baccalaureate degree in Nursing or related field required.
  • Master of Science degree in Nursing or related field required preferred.
  • Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Professional Nurse.
  • Minimum of 4 years management experience required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).
  • Effective management skills necessary to organize direct and evaluate the activities of patient care off shift operations.
  • Ability to apply and utilize the balanced scorecard measures (customer service, financial, innovation and growth, and performance improvement).
  • Critical thinking and analytic skills necessary for problem solving and clinical decision-making.
