Groundskeeper
The Groundskeeper is responsible for performing necessary skills and demonstrating knowledge relating to the grounds maintenance department to provide positive guest experience.
Essential duties include, but are not limited to :
- Interior maintenance of plant life throughout the Hotel & Casino
- Plants and trims lawns, trees, bushes, hedges, and shrubs using hand tools or motorized vehicles
- Landscapes new ground areas, repairs damaged ground areas, replaces bushes, hedges, shrubs, and trees
- Cleans grounds and removes litter
- Responsible for daily upkeep of the property buildings and grounds which includes cleaning and removing of trash
- Responsible for the care, maintenance and inventory of all supplies and equipment owned by the property and / or the management company
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required6 months -1 year experience in landscape maintenance both exterior and interior preferredMust possess a basic knowledge of plant material, turf, pruning and fertilization of outdoor landscape materials and landscape equipment usedMust possess a basic knowledge of interior plant material use and careMust possess knowledge of irrigation systems and controlsMust possess basic understanding of forklift operations and sweeper operationsMust be capable to work in extreme outdoor conditionsMust be safety consciousMust possess attention to detail and follow written instructionsMust be able to work as a team player to accomplish goals of the engineering departmentMust be able to read and write English and be able to effectively communicate with external guests and internal guestsWork Environment :
Duties and responsibilities are typically performed on the Casino Floor in a fast-paced, guest-smoking environment, with constant exposure to general public and excessive noise, in the back of house of the casino, which can be faced-paced with excessive noise and the outdoors.On the Casino Floor, you may be exposed to casino-related environmental factors including, but not limited to, second hand smoke and excessive noise.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, talk or hear; and taste or smell.The employee must frequently lift and / or move up to 50 pounds.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.Native American Preference Policy :
