A law firm in Atlanta is seeking a dedicated Patent Agent or Technical Advisor to join their team. The ideal candidate will possess top academic credentials and have a background in electrical, computer, mechanical, industrial, manufacturing engineering, or computer science.
A Master’s degree or Ph.D. is preferred. The role involves assisting in patent prosecution and providing technical expertise to support the firm’s intellectual property practice.

Duties :
- Assist in patent prosecution, including drafting and filing patent applications.
- Conduct thorough technical research to support patent applications.
- Work closely with attorneys to analyze patentability and prepare legal opinions.
- Provide technical expertise and support in patent litigation and other intellectual property matters.
- Communicate with clients to understand their inventions and technical innovations.
- Assist in preparing responses to office actions from patent offices.
- Keep up-to-date with technological advancements and industry trends relevant to the firm’s practice.
- Collaborate with other members of the intellectual property team to ensure the highest quality of work.
- Attend meetings and provide technical guidance and support to clients and attorneys.
Requirements :
- 1+ years of patent prosecution experience.
- Strong technical background in electrical, computer, mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering, or computer science.
- Top academic credentials.
- Excellent research and analytical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Education and Certifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical, computer, mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering, or computer science.
- Master’s degree or Ph.D. preferred.
- Admission to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (preferred but not required).
