We are looking for a person-centered, detail-oriented Medical Assistant / MA / CNA / LPN to help us provide the best support possible to the adults with intellectual / developmental disabilities we serve!

This person will work with our Medical Manager in monitoring, overseeing, and managing each client’s medications and overall health needs.

The health and well-being of the individuals we are privileged to serve is our chief concern indeed, the foremost objective of the Redhead Supports Medical department is to constantly ensure that these individuals have the kind of health and medication oversight that we would want for our own loved ones.

This position will assist the Medical Manager to provide, model, and teach the sort of thorough, benevolent, and painstaking client health oversight and medication management that they would want for their own loved one.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

PRIORITY 1 : Oversee All Medical Appointments.

1. Contact Program Managers to remind them of upcoming medical visits for their clients.

2. Transport clients and be present for all client medical visits (employee MUST have reliable transportation and maintain driver documents required by the State to safely transports adults with IDD throughout the duration of employment in this position).

3.Follow-up with Program Managers regarding the previous week's medical visits.

4. Review all incoming Medical Visit Forms and update the online system and schedule accordingly.

PRIORITY 2 : Filing

4. Update client medical files.

5. The Medical Assistant will maintain client files as new clients enter Redhead Supports services.

6. Archive items from client medical files.

PRIORITY 3 : Insurance

7. Track clients' insurance information.

8. The Medical Assistant will maintain a list of contact information for insurance companies.

9. The Medical Assistant will ensure we have an original of each client's insurance card(s) on file, and each client has a copy of them on file.

PRIORITY 3 : Client Care

10.Insure that all individuals receive the best quality of care on a daily basis.

11.Oversee / Participate in / Demonstrate proper hygiene, grooming, health, safety of all individuals on a daily basis.

12.Complete all daily / weekly / monthly documentation for each individual. This includes ADL's, MAR, Behavior Reports, Incident Reports etc.

13.Follow company reporting protocols

OTHER

14. Assist in medication removal and destruction as needed.

15. Search for and contact Home Health agencies that can provide services for our clients at their homes

16. Contact physicians' offices for obtaining documentation of medical visits, following up on prescriptions refills, or the occasional scheduling of client medical visits

17. Inform Medical Manager upon receiving any information regarding clients' medical needs

18. Receive and document medication arrival from pharmacy

19. Distribute medications to the houses

20. Attend monthly Weekly Manager Meeting, as needed or as invited

21. Write and send a thank-you card weekly

22. Other duties as assigned by Medical Manager

23. Participate in Month End Paperwork

24. Maintain regular contact with the pharmacy throughout each week, in order to keep a current list of upcoming needs regarding prescription refills

25. Conduct Medication Administration and CPR / First Aid trainings on a monthly basis

26. Track annual physical exams and other associated documents to ensure that they are renewed prior to the expiration date

27. Participate in medical visits, either in person or via TeleMed (depending on the need); must provide transportation if needed

28.Other tasks or assignments that may be giving to support the individuals in the homes.

29. Assist persons served with maintain good hygiene, including nail trimming, hair cuts, etc., as needed

Pay is DOE (not less than $17.00 / hr)
