Essential Employees
The successful candidate will be designated as an Essential Employee. Essential Employees are expected to report to campus during a University State of Emergency (reduced operations or campus closure) unless specifically directed by the Department not to report or if directed by civil emergency or medical authorities not to report for health and safety reasons.
As an Essential Employee , you must report to campus even if the closure is less than 3 days.
Job Description
70% Assist with experiments including :
Basic mouse / rat care- weaning, breeding, etc
Help develop and document procedures.
20% Assist with data collection and analysis :
Maintain complete and accurate information and data from experiments.
Analyze data and write summary reports.
Report results to supervisor and develop subsequent investigation based on supervisor's advice.
Prepare data for use in grant and manuscript submissions
10% General lab maintenance and inventory :
Monitor inventory and order supplies to keep experiments running smoothly.
Assist with good storage and clean-up procedures, arrange for glass washing, dispose of hazardous materials appropriately, perform routine equipment maintenance, etc.
Required Qualifications
BA / BS or a combination of work and experience to equal four years.
