SUMMARY
Provides assistance with activities of daily living to all residents as appropriate and requested under the direction of nursing and medical staff.
Position requires excellent customer service skills and professionalism at all times.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
- Providing care for residents.
- Listening to residents / families and responding to all concerns and questions.
- Assisting with all necessary and appropriate resident care, including toileting, vital signs, transferring, bathing, dressing and washing all areas associated with the ADLs, and reporting any resident concerns or changing conditions to the supervising nursing staff.
- Dining room responsibility when needed (cross training will be provided).
- Ensuring a safe environment during resident activities.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities. QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE)
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
REASONING ABILITY
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid State of Florida Certified Nursing Assistant Certification; must have completed all state (HRS) mandated training.
Current CPR certification.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
- The employee may occasionally be required to work in wet or humid conditions (non-weather), work near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, extreme cold (non-weather), extreme heat (non-weather), risk of electrical shock and vibration.
- Moderate noise (examples : business office with computers and printers, light traffic)
