JOB DESCRIPTION

ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH & SAFETY COORDINATOR - MORROW, GA

We are looking for a Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator who will report to the RDC Manager, and who’ll be tasked with helping us develop, implement, and manage comprehensive environmental health and safety (EHS) programs within the Beloit and Atlanta distribution centers.

As part of your role, you’ll be significantly contributing to the organization's growth. You’ll be at the forefront of bringing a wide range of new talent to BRP.

YOU’LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO :

Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations.

Design and deliver EHS training programs for employees, promoting a culture of safety awareness and adherence to protocols.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and maintain emergency response plans, ensuring preparedness for potential incidents.

Monitor and evaluate workplace conditions, equipment, and practices to identify and rectify potential safety and environmental issues.

Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and provide recommendations for corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.

Manage relationships with regulatory agencies and ensure timely and accurate reporting of EHS data and compliance documentation.

Implement and oversee waste management programs, promoting recycling initiatives and minimizing environmental impact.

Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in EHS to continually improve the center's safety programs.

Foster a safety-conscious culture by engaging employees, conducting safety meetings, and recognizing and rewarding safe practices.

YOU’LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES :

Required :

Bachelor’s degree in environmental health and safety, Occupational Safety, or a related field or a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience required.

Proven experience as an EHS professional, preferably in a distribution center or logistics environment.

In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations and environmental laws. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess and mitigate risks effectively.

Communication : Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Initiative : Demonstrated track record of initiating and successfully implementing projects or ideas.

Interpersonal skills : Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a variety of individuals and departments.

Travel once a quarter to other DC’s.

Preferred :

Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., CSP, CIH) is a plus.

Proficient in using EHS software and tools for data management and reporting.
