Job Description

The Recreation Therapist plans, organizes, and supervises recreational activities for youth programs, promoting healthy leisure, social skills, and psychomotor development.

• Develops diverse programs including arts, sports, and community outings aligned with treatment goals.
• Supervises recreation facilities, ensuring safety and maintenance, and assists in event planning.
• Provides positive role modeling, documents progress, and participates in treatment team meetings.
• Supervises activities for up to three youth and completes necessary reports.
• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in related fields, youth recreation experience, CPR certification, and a valid NYS driver’s license.
• Must demonstrate knowledge of recreation, conflict resolution, and de-escalation techniques, with a focus on ethical conduct.
