Bridge is a program of the Public Health Institute (PHI) that increases the impact of hospital emergency departments (EDs) on population health issues and health equity.

Our largest program, CA Bridge, has supported over 275 hospitals in the last four years to implement medication for addiction treatment (MAT) in the ED.

Access Bridge aims to revolutionize access to reproductive healthcare in EDs. The program empowers healthcare providers to increase stigma-free access to contraception and treatment for pregnancy emergencies from the ED, particularly in abortion-restricted states and regions.

The program coordinator will work closely with the Access Bridge principal investigator (PI) and will collaborate regularly with other members of the Bridge program staff.

This position is primarily remote, working with a team based across the country, with the requirement of attending periodic in-person meetings throughout the year in Oakland, CA.

A small amount of travel outside California (two to three times per year) may be required.Candidates based in the San Francisco Bay Area are preferred.

This is a regular part-time (0.8 FTE / 32 hours a week) position.This position is contingent upon funding awarded to PHI.

Full pay range for this position : $25.23 to $35.52 per hour. The typical hiring range for this position is from $25.23 (minimum) to $30.

37 (midpoint) per hour. The starting wage is determined based on the candidate's knowledge, skills, experience, as well as budget availability.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Ensure timely, effective, and efficient functioning of Access Bridge's administrative activities, including : Correspondence :

Manage communications with program fellowship participants and stakeholders including all program communications and manage the Access Bridge contact list.

Literature Review and Research Management :

Conduct literature searches on program content and maintain an organized library of relevant program research.Content Coordination and Drafting :

Coordinate the production and updating of Access Bridge materials, including gathering input from stakeholders and working with the Bridge central communications team on materials production.

Serve as the first drafter for external- and donor-facing communications. This work may include management of Access Bridge social media accounts.

Contract Management : Manage consultant compliance process by serving as the point of contact with Bridge central operations staff to ensure paperwork is complete and milestones are met.

Participation in Bridge Racial Equity Committee (REC) :

Represent Access Bridge's focus within the committee and, as appropriate, share committee updates and recommendations with program leads.

Perform other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.4 years of administrative or clerical experience.Other Qualifications

Ability to work independently in a remote environment yet be responsive to requests.Ability to understand and complete responsibilities within timelines and ask for clarifications when needed.

Proficiency in Google Suite, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and remote work tools (Zoom, Slack, etc.).Ability to exercise initiative, be resourceful, and solve problems.

Strong communication skills, including establishing effective working relationships with diverse groups and interacting effectively with coworkers, personnel in partner organizations, and external vendors.

Strong writing skills and proven ability to synthesize information from various sources.Exceptional orientation to detail with excellent follow-through and careful adherence to rules and procedures.

Involvement in health, public health, economic / racial justice, political activism, or other social issues.Experience developing social media content preferred.

Ability to work 32 hours per week remotely on a predetermined schedule; this can be four full workdays or four to five shorter days per week.
