• Float Required Across Metro Facilities No Local Travelers Within 50 Miles Avg Daily Census : 14 Rooms : 16 Beds : 16 Patient Age Group : Adults, Geriatrics Ratios - 1 : 2 Every Other Weekend Coverage Documentation System : Epic Required Patient Diagnoses : Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Repair, Carotid endarterectomy, Distal Bypass, Sepsis, Trauma, Bowel Perforation, Arterial Thrombosis, Pulmonary embolism , Free flap for oral / facial / pharyngeal reconstruction Special Procedures / Unit Details : Level 1 Trauma facility, dedicated trauma ICU unit with TNCC or TCAR certification, NIH stroke certification, Resident physician in unit coverage 24 / 7 Special Equipment : Nx-Stage- CRRT, Belmont rapid infuser, Hot line fluid warmer, Artic Sun- for targeted temperature management, EKOS Certification Required - ACLS, BLS, NIH Work Settings : Surgical Intensive Care Unit Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response : Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias Endocrine / Metabolic : IV insulin protocols IV therapy : Accessing Ports, Arterial line management, Blood Product Administration, Central line care / management, PICC line management, Starting IVs MEDICATIONS : Continuous IV sedation, Procedural Sedation Administration, Titrate Cardiac drips, Titrate Vasoactive drips Neurological : CVA / Acute Stroke management Respiratory / Thoracic : Care of Ventilated Patient, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Interpretation of ABGs, Suctioning (ETT, NT) Professional Topics and Skills : Infection Prevention, Isolation Precautions / Use of PPE, Phlebotomy, Surgical Wounds with drains / Wound Vac Free Parking Navy Scrubs Schedules are subject to change based on staffing needs;
