Job Summary :
The Utilities Engineering student employee will support UEM’s mission to provide safe, reliable, and resilient utility and energy services to our campus community.
UEM manages a complex network of underground high voltage duct banks and three 12kv : 69kv substations that supply electricity to campus.
This student will report to the Associate Director of Utilities and primarily assist in developing engineering drawings (schematics, panel design, one-lines, etc) under the direction of UEM Electrical Engineers for the High Voltage department.
The student may also assist in other areas such as incident report documentation, safety protocols, code compliance, preventative maintenance, efficiency improvements, project development, process improvement, and data acquisition and analysis.
The ideal student will be proficient in AutoCAD or similar drafting software, written and oral communications, comfortable working occasionally in a hands-on environment (i.
e. outdoor substations), and committed to continuous improvement. Electrical Engineering student preferred, others with relevant experience will be considered.
