Phoenix, AZ
Temporary

Description

The Arizona State University’s College of Health Solutions (CHS) innovative Doctor of Behavioral Health (DBH) program seeks a full-time, non-tenured clinical faculty member at the rank of Clinical Associate or Clinical Professor who will also serve as this area's Program Director.

As the first degree program in the country to focus on integrated healthcare, the DBH program at ASU's College of Health Solutions represents the university's deliberate investment to improve health outcomes by promoting integrated medical and behavioral health.

The Clinical Professor rank is a renewable annual appointment for a maximum initial term of three years, eligible for renewal for subsequent three-year terms, contingent upon the availability of funds, satisfactory performance, and the needs of the university.

The Clinical Associate rank is a fixed-term appointment that is renewable annually. Subsequent one-year appointments may be offered, under the same terms and conditions, at the discretion of the college and university.

The DBH program offers advanced learning opportunities in behavioral interventions, medical literacy, management, and entrepreneurship.

The DBH program is a global, interdisciplinary degree program that offers an innovative curriculum, direct patient care internship experience in an integrated primary care placement, and an applied quality improvement project for domestic and international students.

This degree is designed for those with prior clinical training and experience, as well as those who aspire to leadership and clinical roles in integrated healthcare.

The program works to address complex and difficult health problems that require transformative collaboration, translational research, and innovation.

Responsibilities for this position include serving as the program director for ASU’s Doctor of Behavioral Health academic programs, mentoring students’ quality improvement projects (including stakeholder engagement and internship management), course instruction, and providing service to the university, college, and relevant degrees.

Applicants must present evidence of teaching experience and a strong commitment to high-quality teaching with the robust support of a world-class instructional design team.

The Program Director’s responsibilities include overseeing essential academic program functions and course instructional staffing / administration.

In addition, the candidate will identify clinical sites and projects for students, support and maintain community partnerships, support applied research course instruction, mentor students, and ensure the overall success of the program.

The anticipated workload for faculty with program director responsibilities is 30% administration (DBH program director role, stakeholder engagement, and internship oversight), 40% teaching (DBH course instruction including applied project mentorship), 10% clinical practice / scholarship, and 20% service.
