About The Position

License : Active nursing license required

Certifications : ACLS, BLS, NIHSS

Must-Have :

• Strong drip experience is essential.
• Experience with arterial lines and titrating vasoactive drips.
• Experience in PCU, DOU, IMC, or step down units.
• Proficiency in telemetry and interpretation of dysrhythmias.
• Skills in management of dysrhythmias and use of Rapid Response Teams.
• Familiarity with IV insulin protocols and blood product administration.
• Knowledge of central line and peripheral line care / management.
• Experience with PICC line management and heparin protocols.
• Competency in handling patients with CVA, chest tubes, and tracheostomy management.

Description :

This position requires a registered nurse with a specialty in ICU.

The unit functions similarly to an ICU, with high acuity patients.

Patient ratios will be targeted at 3 : 1 or 4 : 1.

The unit accommodates patients with respiratory distress, unstable hemodynamics, and post-operative complications among others.

Successful candidates will need to manage one pressor drip per patient, with additional drips necessitating transfer to a higher level of care.

Familiarity with special procedures such as the use of insulin, cardizem, nitroglycerin, and various vasoactive drips is required.

The ideal candidate will be able to recognize and treat dysrhythmias effectively.

In addition, candidates are expected to float to other units as needed.

Weekend coverage is required every other weekend.

Must be comfortable working with a diverse patient population, including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.

All candidates will need to complete necessary competency assessments prior to starting in the role.
