Our client is seeking a Data Engineer to join their Strategic Analytics team, which supports multiple business areas—including Marketing, Finance, and Underwriting—by delivering insights that drive informed decision-making. This role focuses on building and optimizing cloud-based data solutions, enabling advanced analytics, and supporting digital transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business and technology leaders to define a data and analytics roadmap aligned with organizational goals.
  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable data pipelines, warehouses, and marts to improve accessibility, quality, and efficiency of data.
  • Partner with architects and engineers to deliver solutions for reporting, analytics, data science, and data governance.
  • Lead and participate in data discovery sessions to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies to advance data modernization efforts.
  • Foster strong relationships with stakeholders across IT, Marketing, Underwriting, and other business units.
  • Provide production support, including monitoring pipelines, debugging SQL / Python, and resolving data issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience building SQL Server or data warehouse solutions.
  • Strong proficiency in T-SQL and Python, with solid debugging and troubleshooting skills.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms (Azure preferred), including :
  • Azure Data Factory and Synapse (preferred)
  • CI / CD pipelines with Azure DevOps
  • Familiarity with reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or QlikView.
  • Experience implementing Data Lakes using tools such as Databricks, PySpark, ADLS, or Microsoft Fabric.
  • Knowledge of core data concepts : data warehousing, MDM, big data, AI / ML, and cloud principles (certification a plus).
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing in a collaborative team environment.
  • Insurance industry experience is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
