NorthWest Arkansas Community College is seeking qualified applicants to establish a pool for part-time and / or substitute instructors in this discipline.
Applications will be kept on file for the fiscal year ending June 30. When a position becomes available, the hiring department will review the applications on file.
After each fiscal year end the application will expire and a new application must be completed to remain in the applicant pool.
Art Appreciation is a general introduction to Art and a general educational elective. Subject matter includes a brief introduction to the nature and function of the visual arts, the visual elements and principles of design, an introduction to various art media, and a brief exploration of art history.
The Art Department offers courses in Art Appreciation, Art History, History of Photography and Graphic Design, drawing, oil painting, watermedia, sculpture, ceramics, figure drawing, introduction to studio art, and photography.

Rate of pay : $765 per credit hour
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience teaching at a community college and understanding the community college mission is a plus. Demonstrated teaching ability is the top priority.
Instructional experience in a classroom as well as experience using an online learning management system like Canvas or similar is highly desirable.
On-line delivery of instruction, use of technology for instruction, and experience or interest in project-based, service learning, or inquiry-based learning will be given special consideration.

Required Qualifications
A Master's Degree in Art or Art History is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Teaching experience at the college / post-secondary level is preferred.
