Position Overview :
The Caretaker will be responsible for supporting patient with basic daily activities and must be able to assist an elderly gentleman with mobility issues.
Essential Job Functions
- Work closely with the Principals in handling any requests or needs with the utmost professionalism.
- Assist patient with basic daily life activities such as grooming, washing and maintaining personal hygiene standards.
- Assist with walking, transfer and mobility issues that may arise.
- Maintain a clean, safe and comfortable patient environment. Linen changes as needed.
- Prepare and serve healthy nutritious meals, taking into account any special dietary restrictions and personal preferences.
- Manage patient’s medication.
- Provide patient with assistance in bathing.
- Provide patient with assistance in dressing.
- Maintain proper care records and report changes to principals or patient’s doctors.
- Communicate closely with family on patients care.
- Travel with patient to doctors’ appointments and / or other outdoor activities.
- Collaborate with colleagues on household safety and emergency procedure plans.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience working in similar capacity.
- Ability to assist patient of up to 200lbs with mobility issues.
- CPR Certified
- Empathetic and caring.
- Meticulous, personable and self-directed.
- Have outstanding verifiable references.
- Understand that the utmost in confidentiality and discretion is required.
- Good command of the English language, both written and oral.
- Well-groomed and physically able to perform all duties of the position.
