Violet health is a modern outpatient infusion center dedicated to providing high-quality infusion therapy for patients with chronic diseases, including autoimmune conditions like Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, multiple sclerosis, and more.

We are seeking a skilled Medical Biller to join our team and ensure accurate billing and reimbursement for our infusion services.

Position Summary :

The part-time Medical Biller - Infusion Center Specialist will be responsible for managing the billing process for our infusion therapies.

This is a part-time role with future full-time opportunity and growth. This role requires expertise in medical billing, particularly for autoimmune medications such as Remicade and Stelara, and experience with billing on the medical benefits side.

The ideal candidate will have experience in oncology, rheumatology, neurology, or gastrointestinal (GI) billing for infusions.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Billing Management : Accurately prepare and submit medical claims for infusion services to insurance companies, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and policies.
  • Insurance Verification : Verify patient insurance coverage for infusion therapies, including medical benefits eligibility and prior authorization requirements.
  • Reimbursement Tracking : Monitor and track reimbursement status, follow up on unpaid claims, and resolve any billing issues or discrepancies.
  • Coding Accuracy : Ensure proper coding of infusion services using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
  • Patient Communication : Communicate with patients regarding their insurance coverage, billing statements, and any payment issues or questions.
  • Collaboration : Work closely with clinical staff, insurance companies, and patients to facilitate smooth billing processes and resolve any billing-related issues.
  • Documentation : Maintain accurate and detailed records of billing transactions, insurance claims, and patient interactions.

Requirements

  • Experience : Minimum of 2 years of medical billing experience, preferably in an infusion center or related field such as oncology, rheumatology, neurology, or GI.
  • Knowledge : In-depth knowledge of medical billing processes, insurance verification, and reimbursement procedures for infusion therapies.
  • Skills : Proficient in medical coding (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS), with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Technology : Experience with billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems. Familiarity with Zoho Recruit is a plus.
  • Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex billing information to patients and staff.
  • Problem-Solving : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve billing issues efficiently.
  • Education : High school diploma or equivalent required; certification in medical billing or coding preferred.

Requirements

Licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in the state of Michigan. Minimum of 1 year of experience in an infusion center or similar setting, particularly with autoimmune drugs.

Proficient in intravenous (IV) therapy and management of infusion reactions. Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
