Job Description

International SOS is seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive patient care across service delivery sites throughout the State of Colorado.

Leadership representatives or support staff may be required to report to the State Emergency Operations Center in Centennial, CO, to joint field offices within the state, or to satellite work locations established for the mission's duration.

The RN will assume responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating direct and indirect clinical care for patients.

As a key member of an interdisciplinary healthcare team, the RN will advocate for patients and their families, ensuring patient-centered care is delivered with respect to their rights and beliefs.

This role requires the ability to manage emergent situations and apply evidence-based practices to a range of injuries and illnesses.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Assist medical providers with procedures and treatments within the RN's licensed scope of practice.
  • Perform thorough assessments of patients, including vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints. Document findings accurately.
  • Report any changes in patients' conditions to medical providers promptly.
  • Independently administer basic care such as catheter insertion, blood specimen and urine collection, EKGs, visual acuity tests, basic wound care, and intravenous medication administration.
  • Provide basic care and support for activities of daily living as needed.
  • Offer patient education and resources to encourage informed health decisions.
  • Maintain clinical supply inventory and restock supplies in provider areas as needed.
  • Cross-train to work in various clinical settings including clinics, emergency rooms, and inpatient units.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years of nursing experience in clinical settings such as urgent care, emergency room, or related environments.
  • Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills.
  • Ability to manage unexpected and emergent situations with professionalism and expertise.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Education and Certifications :

  • Current, unrestricted nursing license from any US State, District of Columbia, or US Territory.
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association.
  • Preferred : Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification.

Physical Demands :

  • Requires prolonged periods of sitting and standing.
  • May involve occasional bending, stooping, and lifting of up to 15 lbs.

Other Special Qualifications :

  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • This is an unaccompanied position.
  • US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status is required.

Compensation / Min : Pay is negotiable.

Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and / or other benefits.

The applicant's background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data will determine the final salary and offer.
