Shift : Days / 7a-7 : 30p (12x3) 36 hours per week

Length : 13 weeks

Starting IVs; Continuous IV Sedation; IV Vasopressors; CVA; CPAP / BiPAP; Ventilated patients; Isolation precautions; Triage experience

• AHA BLS
• AHA ACLS
• PALS
• Stroke Certified Facility; Arterial line management; Phlebotomy; Procedural Sedation Administration; ICP monitoring; Neuro-trauma;
• Spinal cord injusty; Traumatic brain injury; Ortho-trauma; Head injury; Near drowning; Spinal Cord Injury; Interpretation of ABGs;

Gunshot Wounds; Traumatic amputations experience preferred

ER RN for fast-paced ER at Community Hospital. No new grads, no 1st time travelers. 2 years' experience required. Qualified candidates have at least 18 months experience as core staff in first nursing job.

History of extended assignments a plus. Will not accept travelers with history of cancels. No new grads, no PEDs only experience.

Travelers with clinical terms will not be considered. No locals within 50 miles.

RTO Blackout : 12 / 24-01 / 01. One minimal request outside those dates will be considered.

24 hours orientation. Minimum weekend coverage is every other weekend. Omnicell medication system; Meditech documentation.

Provider support includes interpretation services, lift teams, pharmacy, phlebotomy, physical therapy, radiology, respiratory services, social services, and unit secretary.

Provider coverage includes Intensivist, NP, Hospitalist, and Anesthesiologist.

Certifications REQUIRED : ACLS and BLS (AHA only, no HeartCode), MAB, NIH, PALS

• BPA; Central line care / management; Starting IVs; Continuous IV Sedation; IV Vasopressors; CVA; CPAP / BiPAP; Ventilated patients;

• Skills / Experience preferred : Stroke Certified Facility; Arterial line management; Phlebotomy; Procedural Sedation Administration;
• ICP monitoring; Neuro-trauma; Spinal cord injusty; Traumatic brain injury; Ortho-trauma; Head injury; Near drowning; Spinal Cord Injury;

Interpretation of ABGs; Gunshot Wounds; Traumatic amputations

Emergency room travel nurses are on the hospital front-lines, which is why emergency room travel nurse positions require a candidate who is able to handle a stressful and busy environment.

They are responsible for examining patients upon their arrival and carrying out triage tasks to assess their condition. Ability to identify injuries, signs and symptoms, and communicate their assessment to the physician are required for the emergency room nurse.

A travel ER nurse assists in patient treatment and explaining prescription information to patient / family among other tasks and must know the facility and government policies as it relates to patient treatment, transfer, and discharge.

Educating the patient and their family about continued treatment at home is another task carried out by emergency room nurses before discharge.
