We are looking for Cloud Platform Engineers in the Alloy Engineering business unit within our Core Engineering division, to work at the intersection of data platforms, infrastructure and cloud platforms.
As a member of the team, Cloud Platform Engineers will design, build, and operate the firm's Legend data platform in the AWS and GCP clouds.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
Why join the team?
- We write code - Backend services, UIs, Infrastructure middleware, libraries - mostly in Java.
- We enhance the Legend platform by integrating data models with various data sources and data platforms. E.g RDMS / NoSQL databases, AWS Athena / Redshift etc.
- We are uplifting the Legend platform to take advantage of new cloud capabilities - E.g AWS S3 + Object Lambdas for Legend model to model transformations.
- We are delivering our data platform to the AWS / GCP clouds for internal cloud customers.
- We are actively open sourcing our code and big chunks of our software development will be on GitHub.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS :
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
- A Bachelors degree or higher in a computational field (Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or in a related discipline)
- 3-5+ years of experience working with public cloud providers. This includes :
- Hands on experience with AWS / GCP
- One / more container platforms : Docker / ECS / EKS / GKE
- One / more infrastructure automating toolkits : Terraform / CDK / K8s Config Sync / Config Connector
- Networking concepts - VPC, Load Balancers
- Authentication / Authorization - IAM, Identity Federation etc.
- Experience in Cloud Data Services - AWS S3 / Aurora / Redshift / Athena, GCP GCS / BigQuery, Snowflake
- Cloud Security concepts
- Designing resilient systems for use in the cloud
- Cloud monitoring practices / technologies - AWS Cloud Watch etc.
- Candidates will be expected to both design and implement the Legend platform on the public clouds. Responsibilities also include participating in architecture and design / risk reviews
- Proficiency in one / more programming languages (Java is preferred)
- Candidates should be able to read / write / build / deploy and debug code
