- Holiday Requirements : Every other or as needed for based on unit needs

- Nurse : Patient Ratios : 1 : 1-2 ICU, 1 : 4 PCU
- Common diagnoses / Types of patients : Adults and Peds >
15 years old, Neuro surgery (initiating neuro interventionalist with thrombectomy program) - not required exp., Respiratory failure, ARDS, MODS, sepsis, stroke, cardiogenic shock (impella, balloon pump - not required exp.
renal failure (CRRT) - not required exp., general surgery, psych / OD, GI bleeds, cancer specific surgeries - esophagectomy, internal chemo administration, CVPs, Alines, Swans, EV-1000, ICP monitoring- all can train real time, Zoll -Thermoguard for hypothermia protocol, Bell Mont rapid transfuser
- Are RNs required to titrate drips? : Yes
- Common titratable & / or set rate drips : Vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, antiarrhythmics
- Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? : Yes- will attend RRTs and Codes
- Are there nurse aids / patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties? : Yes- 1 : 18
- RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot? : Nasal cannula to vents
- Are there Tele / Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?
No techs- Draeger heart monitoring with centralized telemetry monitoring. RNs need to be able to read and interpret.
- Floating Requirements : Will float to all inpatient units, excluding Maternity / NICU
- Scrub Color / Dress Code : Navy Blue
- How many shifts of unit / department specific orientation? : 2 shifts
Additional Details
- ACLS, BLS, NIHSS;Department : Med Surg ICU RN
- Fast paced unit with volume flexes due to being primary tertiary hospital for the system.

- Have a team environment meant to foster high quality care and work with attendings and student providers (fellows, residents) to collaborate on care.
- Radius Rule : 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and / or Dignity.
- RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
