DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, responsibilities encompass a range of tasks, including but not limited to the use of the state database system (CPCMS), typing various case-related documents such as petitions, proposed court orders, subpoenas, notices, dockets, court orders, memos, bench warrants, motions, case records, forms, correspondence, and court summaries.
Additional duties involve receptionist tasks, operating the switchboard, attending court hearings, docketing, distributing court documents, scheduling hearings and consultations, processing appeals, compiling statistics, and engaging with colleagues, agency staff, clients, and professionals.
The role also requires maintaining and distributing supplies and forms, overseeing routine maintenance of office equipment including the fax machine, taking minutes at designated meetings, filing and organizing case materials, providing clerical support at other office locations as directed by the Clerical Supervisor, and performing other necessary activities to support the Legal Services Clerical Department and the agency's clerical functions.
Work Schedule and Additional Information :
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8 : 30 AM to 4 : 30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Salary : In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements :
- Six months as a Clerk Typist 1 and educational development to the level of eighth grade; or
- Completion of a high school business curriculum which included at least one typing course; or
- Any combination of equivalent experience and training.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements :
- You must pass a background investigation.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
